The Kalabubu Neckring proclaimed

that the wearer had taken a head from an outside group

and had brought it, and its protective and creative forces,

back to his village.

Considering their age, and use as body ornaments,

these four coconut and bronze neckrings

are in very good "original" condition.

Collected in Sumatra in 1996.
