Although "Haiku" Poems
concern generally understood subjects:
such as Life & Death, the Seasons,
Nature, and Animals,
it is the Poet's unique way of observing
which attempts to raise the "obvious"
from mundane to profound,
with a sympathetic, often melancholic,
yet always realistic view...and point.
The original Japanese Format consists of
three lines of five, seven, and five syllables.
Surprisingly, this terse format work
very well in English.
